  1. What is PointCast?

    PointCast technology delivers hyper local forecasts and weather information with precision and accuracy beyond compare. By providing your POSTAL code, ZIP code or by activating Follow me we can deliver a hyper local PointCast as close as 1km/0.6miles using your latitude and longitude. More PointCast information.

  2. Why does my follow me city have the pin?

    The PointCast pin indicates the most local forecast is being provided. By enabling Follow me, we receive your latitude and longitude information and automatically deliver PointCast, a hyper local forecast and weather information as close as 1km/0.6miles. More PointCast information.

  3. What are the features on this site?

    We have built the site to support all your touch features so that you can navigate within sections easily.

    Some new features are:

    • Save multiple cities (maximum of 10 cities) and toggle between the cities
    • Right arrow (>) allows you to slide through all pages available for the section
    • Change preference to Metric or Imperial
    • Access 'home city' weather page by clicking on "The Weather Network" logo
    • Use the GPS locator (locates city nearest to you)
    • Receive 'Severe Weather' alerts for US and Canada

  4. How do I add a new location?

    From any page, click on the downward arrow (next to the location name), select "Add New Location" and the "My Favourite Cities" page will open. You can either search for a PointCast location by entering a Postal Code or US ZIP code or by entering a city location by name. You can also click "Add locations by GPS" to see a list of cities closest to you. You can also access the "My Favourite Cities" page by clicking on the Settings link at the bottom of each page.

    Postal codes can be entered with or without spaces and are case sensitive. For example, you can enter K1A 0A9 or K1A0A9 or K1a 0a9 or k1a0A9, all combinations will give you Ottawa, ON, Canada K1A 0A9. ZIP codes must not include spaces.

  5. How do I change from Fahrenheit or Celsius?

    You can set all your preferences on the settings page. Click on the settings icon (i) found at the bottom of the page and go to preferences. Select metric (Celcius) or Imperial (Fahrenheit). When you have made a selection, make sure you click on the Save settings button.

  6. How do I save a city to my favorites?

    You can save up to 10 cities in your favourites. From any page, click on the downward arrow (next to the location name), select "Add New Location" and the "My Favourite Cities" page will open. You can either search for a PointCast location by entering a Postal Code or US ZIP code or by entering a city location by name. You can also click "Add locations by GPS" to see a list of cities closest to you. Click city you wish to add and it will be included in your 'favourite city' list.

  7. How do I get back to my home city page from the Travel, Activities or Health pages?

    You can visit your home city weather page at any time from the site. Just click on " The Weather Network" Logo and you will see your home city's current condition page. Other navigation options are:

    • Click the Menu button
    • Use the back button of your browser

  8. How do I delete a location saved in Favorites?

    You may edit your favorite locations at any time. Go to the settings (i) page and tap on the X (delete) button. The city will be deleted.

  9. Why do I have a home city icon next to the first city in my favorite cities?

    The home city is the city which you frequently visit. You can get quick access to your 'home city' by clicking on 'The Weather Network' logo from anywhere on the site.

  10. How do I change my Home city?

    Go to the settings (i) page and click on the 'home' icon, located next to your city, in 'My favorite cities' list.

  11. I see a right arrow (>) button located next to current condition- does this mean something?

    The right arrow allows you to slide through all the pages available in the section. For example, by clicking on the right arrow (>) button in the weather section, you will see all the forecast pages available for your city. Tap the page title (eg short term weather) to see the content for that page.

  12. Does the mobile web offer anything besides Weather forecast?

    Roads & Travel, Health and Activities are some of the sections are now offer. You now have easy access to Flight tracker, Golf/ski reports, Air Quality Health Index, Traffic cams and more.

    Click on the Menu button to access all content available on Mobile web. Tap the section to view options available within each section.

  13. I always land on the Weather page. How do I go to a new section such as Health or Activities?

    All sections can be found on the menu page (Icon.) Menu page is located on the top and bottom page.

    Just tap on the section you wish to find more information on.

  14. How do I get to the classic site?

    There are two ways to get to the classic site:

    • Click on the classic site link at the bottom of the page and navigate within the classic site.
    • Bookmark the classic site. To bookmark classic site, select the '+' button icon from your browser and add the icon to your home page.
